The Cannon

The Cannon is located on the South end of Puerto Baquerizo. It is named after an artillery piece that is right in front of the break. Access is by panga or through the navy base with special permission. Getting out of the water here, as with most of the other spots, can be hazardous (see next page). The Cannon is a sweet lefthander that has crisp walls with a hollow section. It was a very fun 4-6 foot while we were there. I shot some pictures from a panga but most were pretty lame shots of smallish waves. On the best days the panga driver dropped us off and came back later to pick us up so I wasn't able to shoot pictures. The Cannon is best on North/West swells and giant SouthWest swells.
