Puerto Baquerizo
San Cristobal is the capital of the Galapagos Islands and Puerto Baquerizo is the only true town on the island. There is a small farming community in the hills called El Progresso which is very tiny and nowhere near the size of Puerto Baquerizo. Puerto Baquerizo's population is approximately 5400 people. Huge by Galapagos standards. We were fortunate to visit at the same time the town was celebrating its 30th year of state hood (Province) with Ecuador. The people know how to party and we had a blast.
